Personality

When it comes to summing up the personality of a Bengal, well, that’s a tough task. Bengals are like children, each is an individual.

First know that a Bengal cat is a thinking cat. They make eye contact with you and are quite often vocal.

With a Bengal you can count on intelligence. They think, plan, and execute. If you have more than one, they will work together as a group to come to a satisfactory conclusion. You can even teach a Bengal to perform tricks!

Bengals are entertaining. You don’t want to miss what they are into or thinking of doing next. You will find yourself (along with your family) watching them and laughing instead of watching TV.

Bengals are most definitely fun and playful. They love their toys, and always know where they are. Kittens and cats will play fetch with you just as your dog will. They will play hide & seek, hunt Easter Eggs, they are truly your companion. They are so much fun you tend to forget they are a cat. I call them a “buddy cat”.

Bengals are sociable cats by nature. They enjoy being with other cats and will make great friends with your dogs and other household pets. They even learn your extended family & friends and happily greet them when they come to visit!

Always an interactive part of your family, your Bengal wants to be wherever you are,(where the action is) staying busy in whatever room you are in. When it is time to turn in for the night, make room. In your cat’s mind, his place is next to you.

To me, the most important aspect of a Bengals personality is their huge capacity for LOVE. This you will have to experience to know. They become very devoted, emotionally attached, to their human family. Being affectionate cats, they are happy to set on your lap, watch TV & cuddle. Don’t be surprised when you find yourself the recipient of a Bengal HUG!
